چکیده

In anisotropic media, the standard perfectly matched layer (PML) technique suffers irrevocable instability in terminating unbounded problem domains. It remains an open question whether a stable PML-like absorbing boundary condition exists. For wave scattering layered orthotropic medium, this is affirmatively answered for first time paper. each permittivity tensor uniquely determines change of coordinates that transforms governing Helmholtz equation into isotropic new coordinate system. This leads us to propose novel Sommerfeld radiation (SRC) rigorously characterize outgoing waves medium. Naturally, SRC motivates regionalized PML (RPML) truncate problem, sense set up system region. revealed RPML unconditionally compared with unstable uniaxial PML. A high-accuracy integral (BIE) method developed solve resulting value problem. Numerical experiments are carried out validate stability and accuracy BIE method, showing exponentially decaying truncation errors as parameters increase.

A high-order accurate, collocated boundary element method for wave propagation in layered media

The ultimate goal of this research is to construct a hybrid model for sound propagation in layered underwater environments with curved boundaries by employing a di↵erential formulation for inhomogeneous layers and a boundary integral formulation for homogeneous layers. The discretization of the new hybrid model is a combination of a finite di↵erence method for the Helmholtz equation for inhomog...

A Fast 2d Volume Integral- Equation Solver for Scattering from Inhomogeneous Objects in Layered Media

The stabilized biconjugate gradient fast Fourier transform (BCGS-FFT) method is applied to simulate electromagnetic and acoustic scattering from inhomogeneous objects embedded in a layered medium in two dimensions. Two-dimensional layered-media Green’s functions are computed adaptively by using Gaussian quadratures after singularity subtraction. The Green’s function is split into convolutional ...

A General Boundary-Integral Formulation for Zoned Three-Dimensional Media

A new boundary-integral formulation is proposed to analyze the heat transfer in zoned three-dimensional geometries. The proposed formulation couples the boundary formula, the gradient of the boundary formula, and the exterior formula. An advantage of this formulation over the traditional methods is that any linear condition at the interface between subdomains may be incorporated into the formul...

Axisymmetric Scaled Boundary Finite Element Formulation for Wave Propagation in Unbounded Layered Media

Wave propagation in unbounded layered media with a new formulation of Axisymmetric Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method (AXI-SBFEM) is derived. Dividing the general three-dimensional unbounded domain into a number of independent two-dimensional ones, the problem could be solved by a significant reduction in required storage and computational time. The equations of the corresponding Axisymmetri...
